We successfully landed the B.3202 first-stage in the early April, but decided not to reuse it. We still test fired the engines to prove that it could be launched again.
(B.3203 will be reused.)
Looks like early fuel depletion caused engine shutdown just above the pad. But vehicle is still in one piece. We just completed the post-landing data inspection and all systems look good.
@Staticalliam7 We will need some partners for the Cylero exploration mission. but team have to focus on Gamma station and Beta Heavy development first.
a new version(v1.1) of the Beta's grid fins would introduce greater controllability to the first stage rocket booster.
Because v1.1 fins would provide lower drag, we will re-light 2~3 engines for landing. or performing landing burn at a higher altitude. (Fuel consumption is the only downside)
In addition, Beta will descend at a higher angle of attack.
@ChaoticGraviton Cool!
Team is ready to reuse first stage(Rideshare 7). We won't launch a second-hand rocket in April unless we receive a new launch requirement.
@GalaxyEye Yeah, We decided to bring forward the date of the next mission.
+2 3.6 years agoThe VAB will make assembling and reusing rockets much easier.
+1 3.6 years agoWe're going to build VAB and Pad B after this mission.

+1 3.6 years ago@AshtvinayakAerospace Okay
3.6 years ago@GalaxyEye theoretically, Beta(Block.3) can land on target site when one of grid fins doesn't work.

+1 3.7 years ago@Doglover232YT Of course.
+1 3.7 years agoThe launch of the Gamma station requires a rocket with an extended payload shroud.
+1 3.7 years ago@Tweedle_Aerospace Only need Beta rocket Gamma station doesn't have the trusses because it's a small space station.
