Sorry for the late response but I recommend just using mods as they're easier. If you're on mobile then you're out of luck, though I don't see why you need one in the first place.
No you got it just fine, it might have just been my inner SimplePlanes player where you would select steam workshop for mods. I have tried downloading a mod but I’m not sure what to do after that, I don’t think the mod automatically installs.
