@Oski In-game units will be metric and dollars. We may have an option to switch to Imperial. Hard to commit to small things like that right now when there are so many huge big things left to do though!

@WeSeekANARCHY several parts recalculate mass as they are resized, but via XML modding it is possible to alter the mass of parts.

Thanks for letting us know. Reposting what I wrote on SimplePlanes.com:

"Yep, sorry about this. Our SSL cert is expired, but it's really not a security risk at this point. They require yearly renewals, which is far more frequent than necessary and I believe the only reason they do that is so they can sell more certs.

I have been working with our service provider and the cert company to renew it since last week, but somebody dropped the ball. I'm not sure if it was me and there was something I was supposed to do or if they forgot to do something...I hope to have it back to normal soon."

@mikethespike056 The surface of the planet is great for crushing rockets. You won't be able to land on the gas giants anymore.

@Awsomur Those boosters are several thousand kilograms each, so make sure you bulk up before launch day.

@Bmcclory One of the important pieces will be uploading your sandboxes (ie - game states), so we're going to add a mode where you can hide the hud and get great looking screenshots of your crafts for your posts on SimpleRockets.com.

@Supercraft888 SR2 fuselage pieces are based on SimplePlanes and I have put a ton of effort into them so they are a lot more flexible.

@Planefun We probably won't manipulate the particles based on air density, but probably just fade it out. Thanks for the image though, it is interesting stuff!

@diegoavion84 The rotators cause things to move and if those moving things bump into things that aren't moving, then there is certainly a chance for fireworks.

    +3 6.8 years ago
  • Profile image

@Planefun I left the smoke in on SR1 because I thought it helped with gameplay to give the player a sense of what direction they're moving in space, but since SR2 is 3D, there is more situational awareness so we will probably get rid of it. It does look silly in space.

@GINGER01 You can change what parts of the rotator are visible. By default, the entire thing is visible, but you can hide the base and even the panel.

@destroyerP The initial release for early access will be missing some of these features, but we do hope to add astronauts and re-entry effects before doing the final release. Real size planet scales might be possible (via XML modding) on the initial early access release.

@Supercraft888 The coloring is very similar to SimplePlanes, so coloring is based on Primary, Trim 1, etc.

You can launch multiple crafts into the solar system and the game will save your state, so you can keep adding more onto space stations in orbit, similar to SR1.
