I suggest googling the physics of space travel and how to make orbital transfers.
No Juno tutorials just look up real space travel.
We can explain here but theres nothing like images and videos to aid your education.
Is rcs set to an AG so youre not out of battery or mono before you need it?
Many things could be the issue. Uploading the craft for diagnosis is the best option.
@HorizonsTechnologies Its definitely part scam.
Its a going joke in SC general chat that it wont be finished until 2956. Thats coming from the die hard players.
Its obvious when you look at other beta games like Elite Dangerous that are far beyond Star Citizen.
One thing ill give SC is they have great graphics.
Its really just lots of time spent on small details and reflections that make it look so good.
They even introduced ray tracing for gpus that dont support it somehow.
@PZLAerospace
Are you playing in an empty sandbox?
The reason i ask;
I have a beast pc and it runs 12k parts crafts on max graphics just fine.
But
One day i made a craft to beat the explosions award and it almost exploded my pc.
100k parts exploding at once was a bad idea but once it was over I saved my game.
Then I forgot this craft was still in my sandbox and still exploding as i loaded in a different craft at a near location.
My pc paused so bad I couldnt even alt f4 or open task manager.
So if you have large crafts already loaded in game then your ipad may not have the juice to handle it.
@LeMagicBaguette ya man,
Just think of them as Program Missiles.
I usually open my nav sphere so I can see my main crafts prograde direction.
That will help predict the direction your missile will be going.
@LeMagicBaguette
The missile just keeps its control settings locked once it leaves the craft I believe.
This is the unguided missile thing I mentioned below.
@LeMagicBaguette so you managed to create a sniper guiding laser program and only have an issue with not being able to keep the main craft on target?
You will have to get creative then.
What if you set up the program to use a camera part to stay lined up on target.
Put the camera at the nose of the craft
Or under the belly if the targets are on the ground.
Theres a way to vizzy and broadcast from the main chip to the missile chips and get them to lock on target.
Some are more complicated than others but there are tons of them out there to look at.
🚀
What you are experiencing is nearly exactly what youve guessed,
but the missile only mimics the exact moment of controls that the main craft is experiencing at that very moment.
💥
The best way I found to shoot uncontrolled missiles was to not be using any controls at the time nor be climbing or dropping in altitude and the missile will go relatively straight.
On the other hand, if you do practice lifting up or banking to the side just before releasing the missile you will get good at the freehand non targeted missile and soon youll be hitting things around corners with banking or behind bridges with the lift trick.
Probably by xml edit in tinker.
🚀
What I do is use translation mode.
I will add many rcs to the rear of the craft and set vizzy to only use 1 or more as the throttle increases.
I just use forward to move but you may be able to set them to turn in via part numbers as the throttle increases instead.
Take my idea.
I have been drawing plans of a major space station for cylero for years now.
I cant finish it lol.
Im too picky when it comes to my passion builds.
Most dont come to light because of limited time anyway.
It was supposed to have custom made docking ports so droods can travel through after locking together.
It was going to be vanilla and launched in 6 different sections plus the solar array and a refuel launch.
Be careful though. Its become my sketch pad obsession. Lol
0% is best. 100% is the worst.
5% would be a high amount. It doesnt happen once every 20 times like the math suggests.
Its more like every 5-10 times.
Reason being is because every opportunity is another 5 in 100 chance to fail.
It re evaluates a fresh cycle every time.
@RedBlueMax to rendezvous with other craft in orbit and docking mainly but I found it useful in many light body/ low gravity landings like astroids for staying level and side shifting into place without having to lean the craft.
Its also fun for futuristic ships as a flight assist option.
Few other things im forgetting im sure.
I turn them off until I need them.
🚀
Check out the options on the right side of the screen while in play.
Theres one called translation mode.
It will allow you to use the rcs as direction thrust so you can stay facing forward and translate left right up down forward backward without the gyro turning you in that direction.
Otherwise the rcs takes over while not in translation mode and turns you in all kinds of directions as it fights the gyroscope.
💥
If you have no gyro you will have to switch between translations to get directions or translations.
Continuous calibration until it works basically.
Once you get one to work youll be like “Oh ok thats how it works”!
But then youll notice the next parachute doesnt work with those settings so youll have to go through it all again each time.
Honestly there is a bit of consistency with them but not a whole lot.
@LenatezSpaceAgencys indeed, different cameras for different applications.
A slow motion camera would pick up bullets shot during launch but they would be terrible security cameras without editing.
Oh this is about the real starship? I dont watch the news too often.
Forgive me, i thought you were all talking hypothetically about one of your own crafted starships that failed launch.
There have been stranger cults on this website.
