SSTOs are way more difficult here than in ksp because of the lack of rapiers and the fact that nuclear engines arent completely overpowered and because the planet is bigger.
But it is rewarding to get one to work.
@Dogfish5550 yeah i made a bigger, more stable version compatible with bigger motors but im still limited by the joint strength of the rotators and pistons
Just use panels on hinge rotators and set their input to brake

Increase the friction on the rear landing gear to keep it straight on the runway

4.9 years agoThis isnt simple planes, theres many factors influencing the thrust of the jet engine.
4.9 years agoIf your not going the ARCA route and are using water in NTRs the radioactive material in the engines isnt much better honestly.
4.9 years agoNTRs have about double the isp with liquid hydrogen rather than with water but as previously mentioned has hurrendous density.
