@ThePilotDude make sure your inlets arent blocked by anything.
You can check for occlusion when clicking on the inlet in flight.

Its under advanced wheel settings, the forward and sideways traction

SSTOs are way more difficult here than in ksp because of the lack of rapiers and the fact that nuclear engines arent completely overpowered and because the planet is bigger.
But it is rewarding to get one to work.

Increase the friction on the rear landing gear to keep it straight on the runway

    5.1 years ago
  • Profile image

How did i fall for that for christs sake.

@ThePilotDude its when you use the atmosphere to slow down.
Yes 1100 delta V on the surface should certainly get you home.

@plane918273645 from luna's surface back to droo only takes slightly more than 1000m/s with aerobraking

    5.1 years ago

You could increase the forward and sideward friction on the rear landing gear that might help

@SupremeDorian i think this might still take some time as they're just releasing a concept

If your not going the ARCA route and are using water in NTRs the radioactive material in the engines isnt much better honestly.

    5.1 years ago

NTRs have about double the isp with liquid hydrogen rather than with water but as previously mentioned has hurrendous density.

Also you only need 4 multidirectional thrusters to cover all axes of rotation or translation.

Upon testing i figured out that the multidirectional thrusters are always trying to translate even when translation is turned off which is definitely a bug.
