By the way, do you have Steam Play and have you tried running it with Steam Play?
In my case, it is breaking right in the beginning when it tries to set the screen resolution to 1920:1200. I don't know if there is a fix for that.

I was thinking more of something like "kOS: Kerbal Operating System".
But sadly, kOs is very limited in terms of distance. You cannot have one part of the rocket landing while the other one is going to orbit and have both being controlled at the same time (the one out of focus would lose control after a certain distance).

If that happens, I would definitely migrate from KSP to SR2.
I can beta test a Linux version.
