honestly kinda same tbh
i still hop on the game occasionally but i just have no energy or time to make major things, and of course my already stupidly burnt out brain decided to start another star system project -_-
i hate to say this, but... i'm kind of just getting bored of video games in general... yet there's nothing better for me to do
maybe during school breaks i'll work on major stuff but at the moment i'm just too freaking tired
@JanusSpaceIndustries cheers, you too
the earliest i can release a guide is likely autumn break, which for me is like around late october but i'm not sure
@JanusSpaceIndustries alright, alright
really i'm just sick of people constantly forcing me to help with/do their stuff, i have a limit so i can tolerate it for a while but once that limit is exceeded (like here) i won't be nice to them anymore
that said, you at least handled the situation correctly and actually apologized, unlike other people who just got sad or angry and made up some bullfeces excuse, so in this case i'll accept the apology (very rare thing for me to do) and i'll keep helping occasionally, just don't ask me about it all the time please
by the way, i suggest you also ask other planet builders for help, as my skill has a limited ceiling (right now it's just heavily modified templates (like Merak), and basic blank template planets with 1 to 4 biomes) and i think it'd be a good tactic to go over what i already told you before and use those as a basis of sorts and then add others' advice onto that
if, by chance, you have bad memory like i do, you could write or copypaste the tutorials/tips down in a notepad or text file or whatever and then open it whenever you need to
there's a modded comnand chip out there with 30 AG slots, i'll try to find the link for it
edit: here
it used to also give 50 color slots but that no longer seems to work
yeah it's a weird bug, in some systems it only shows as having Juno in it, no idea why it does that, and i also dunno if downloading a system like that actually works or not
@LeMagicBaguette i am aware of my mental issues, i just don't really care about them, and it's too late to fix them anyways
essentially, i know it's a big issue, but won't do much about it because i'm lazy and useless
i won't claim i'm "immune" to my mental issues, i think we can both agree that that is kinda bullfeces, but i'll still be tanking them while i can regardless, if i can no longer tank it i'll just tell my parents or something and then go to a therapist etc etc
@JanusIndustries iirc the terrain gen tab is the one with two triangles/mountains, this button is also reused for the button for toggling between basic and advanced mode
if you want to change the spectral type, for the default star template, you need to go into advanced mode in the terrain tab and you should see "color gradient" or something like that, this defines the colors that the "surface" will use, you can define points with a given color and it will automatically have smooth transitions
you will also need to mess with the atmosphere and fog shader so that it matches the "surface" as well
if you want to get the color right, use a Hertzsprung-Russell diagram or a color chart like this one found in another wiki page
it's a bit hard to explain, but you will need to make an extra set of craters and use its mask input to make it only show up near the equator
to get that, first get a "get position" and set the "Y" output into a non-zero value, and feed that into a "remap (curve)", then make it so that it has a peak in the center (very similar to what i described in your previous post)
after that, feed the output into the "mask" of the craters you're using for the equatorial craters
i don't know if this works or not, i haven't tested it lol
as always, if you want me to demonstrate it then i'll upload a planet for it
yes, most gas giants (including the stock ones) have it set at exactly 50000m (=50km)
though the actual crush altitude tends to be a little higher than that, usually around like 52000m from what i've seen
5 ideas i have right now:
- a planet that looks like it's artificially made (use value fractal noise) but is actually natural, can be any shape or color you want
- a neptune to saturn sized pale green gas giant with dark brown poles and rings that are very far out, and most of its moons are closer to the planet than the ring
- a small contact binary that could maybe be a moon of the gas giant above
- a super-earth terrestrial planet that is kinda habitable but is almost entirely covered in clouds (leave maybe a couple of sneak peek holes) and is also very foggy on the surface
- an oceanic moon that has completely dried up, leaving sand and rocks, maybe with a couple of protrusions where former islands used to be located (size is about that of Io, should have an atmosphere density of ~0.400 kg/m^3)
@Monkey13 oh yeah lol my bad
i'm planning on making an extensive post about it eventually, hopefully with enough presence for someone to comment a working solution/fix
@CoolGuy124 it's not "secret", it's just that planet studio isn't fully mobile compatible so they made it only available through dev console for mobile so that there are less bugs and whatnot
Io and Europa look absolutely fire (ironically, for the former), though i think the height/steepness of the spikes on Callisto are a little too extreme but that's probably just me
takes one glance at Hybrid mode looks at SV80 and all my other crazy stuff "I guess we were just getting started all this time. Physics had feared me for long, but... this update... oh man, things are going to get out of hand very very quickly. And this isn't even the full release. I'd say this definitely deserves a HEHE BOI."
i think you mean the "default" rotation period that is displayed on the site and when you first place a planet in the system editor...
you can change that in XML, it's located somewhere near the top if i remember correctly, however it's in some super weird unit that i have no idea how to convert into any standard format
@Ylias yeah, i've delayed the uploading of all my posts until the start of my local summer break (June 16) where i'll upload with my unpredictable "schedule" again, really it's just so i can focus on school and other games and whatnot
my biggest active project for now is, by far, Zenith Galaxy 2.0, it's basically completed too but i still need to do testing, debugging, de-crashing, and a bunch of photoshoots... aside from that, the VB Exostar Collection is the only thing that'll be able to surpass ZG2.0, but i might have to cancel it since the app i use to edit XML files of the game no longer wants the files or folders to show up since the 1.0 update, so yeah...
i am not a professional by any means, but really all i can suggest is that you start off lightly and don't stress your body since it probably needs time to adapt, and only later go on with more intensity, otherwise just refer to other much smarter users in the comments
in theory the two inner planets do have their own songs, or at least were planned to have them; if you check any planet file there should be a music choice parameter, and there seem to be two unused ones, "Lake of Fire" for planets made with lava template (and Vulco too), and "Venusian World" for planets made with the venusian template (and thus Sergeaa as well)
and yeah, i love the Cylero theme too, alongside the gas giant theme, especially the high-speed variants, those retro pixel-like sounds in the Cylero theme and that deep "dodododok" sound for the gas giant theme, it makes these songs way more awesome
Screw this, I'm going to buy JUNO: YELLOWHITE (C)(R)(TM) from my trusted Black UFO Market seller for a subscription price of 532 Detruncated Icosahedrons (DTIS) per lateral parsec-time-frame, to restore the glory of our star from a puny lame blue dwarf back to our original G dwarf, and sooner or later I shall make my own JUNO: QUASARNOVA (C)(R)(TM)(RS)(Z)(X)(GX) to turn Juno into an even better quasar system! Bow before me, mortal peasant carbon-based beings!! Your superior Lord and Master, our Glorious Diswarped Non-Gamma-Compliant Polonium-Ytterbium-based Lifeforms, will prevail! Wait, is that a- NOOOOOOOOO ITS ZAENITTO COMING WITH THE HAIPARSPIDO-*static*

can you give us more detail on the system? we could better know what kinds of planets to make that way
