Be prepared to make a lot and i mean alot of burns at periapsis. It took me more than 50 individual burns to get an ion probe to the orbit height of the moon.
@AverageHuman i just buildt a rocket type craft with jet engines that goes straight vertical and was able to leave the athmosphere but i guess its more fun to get a plane up to high altitudes.
@swope no i actually had to set them to never collide with parts as a retractable landing gear part is not in the game yet and making something with cargo bays and without parts intersecting would have been pretty hard and it didn't want to spend hours trying to come up with something that worked. But other than that the craft doesn't use the tinker panel.
Make sure that your rcs thrusters are symmetrically placed around your craft and that they lie on the center of mass. Also you can press T while in flight to activate translation mode to move your craft to the sides forwards and backwards.
On standard every part besides the heat shield has a heat tolerance of 1500°C. If the part is over that limit for a certain amount of time it will break.
Make sure to launch at the correct launch window so when cylero is around 55° ahead of droo
5.3 years agoJust use many fuselage blocks

5.3 years agoThey won't add weapons into the game as its supposed to be a peaceful exploration game.
5.3 years agoclicky
+1 5.3 years ago@MethaManAircraft currently not

5.4 years ago@Icantthinkofaname same
5.4 years agoYou can just see the orbital period of droo in the map view.
5.4 years agoIts K for me.
5.4 years agoIs it not easier to just use the reatach button?
5.4 years ago@AverageHuman here you go
5.4 years agoPlace a command chip in the editor and set it to primary in the inspector, you can then delete the capsule.
+5 5.4 years ago@AverageHuman i just buildt a rocket type craft with jet engines that goes straight vertical and was able to leave the athmosphere but i guess its more fun to get a plane up to high altitudes.
5.4 years agoDoes it have to have wings?
5.4 years ago@pedro16797 ive tried it once and almost got it back to droo but didnt quite have enough delta v.
5.4 years agoYou can actually drag manouver nodes the direction relative to the orbit just doesnt stay the same.
5.4 years agoWhen looking at the image i realized that the sun is still exactly as bright as if looked at from droo. I dont think its supposed to be like that.
5.5 years agoA planet builder is planned though.
+1 5.5 years ago@pedro16797 ive made it to lightspeed myself but how did he get to 250km/s with supposedly no use of the tinker panel.
5.5 years agoI can just say it again we dont know anything more than you do!
5.5 years agoAmazing!!! But how on droo did you do that?
5.5 years ago@Exospaceman i dont know how much longer i can wait for the customizable rocket engines!
5.5 years agoSo a new rocket for every planet/moon?
5.5 years agoDamn i thougt it was just some kind of filter. This is amazing!
5.5 years agoApexedi
+1 5.5 years agoTry putting the graphics to lowest that should make it better and it still wont look like a game made in the last century.
+1 5.5 years agoTo my knowledge one unit is 1 meter.

5.6 years agoYou could try a Saturn C-8
5.6 years ago@mjdfx150529 i think he wants a infinite fuel tank

+2 5.6 years agoThats not really how NTR's work.
5.6 years agoIts °C and you might have to turn reentry effects on in the settings.
5.6 years agoGet to orbit with a rocket weighing less than 3tons. My record is 2318kg.
5.6 years agoAndrew did a blog post about it a few months ago in there is a gif which explains pretty good what it does.
5.7 years agoFinally jet engines

+1 5.7 years ago@Chancey21 maybe lowering the torque will help
+1 5.7 years agoJust click on the altitude and it will switch to AGL (above ground level)
+4 5.7 years ago@ForeverPie i mean in terms of geometry and buildings
5.7 years agoIts hard to make a map with the size of the one in sr2 as detailed as simple planes's small map
5.7 years agoI saw chemtrails from invisible planes one day.
+1 5.8 years ago@Shibe from one of your posts that got upvoted.
5.8 years ago@Caveman999 what and where?
5.8 years agoMaybe there are already easter eggs and just noone found them yet
+1 5.8 years agoYou need to angle the wings so that they "push" the air away and propell you forward.
5.8 years ago@DanielRobboSon add another fuel tank and change it to battery
5.8 years agoOne way trip is about 6500 - 7000m/s with return and direct ascend somewhere around 8000m/s in total.
