@Tweedle_Aerospace it's all good, I expected BN1 to fly too and just found out today that it's not. As far as BN2, BN3, and SN20 goes, you're completely right, that is the plan, especially if the current pace of development keeps going. I said "by the end of the year" just to account for any delays that might happen. And yeah, I'm worried about the orbital launch/landing site too. That's a lot of work to redo
@HermesEngineering lol yeah, I've been meaning to take advantage of that, I just want to make sure my crafts are ready for that first(which is real close for the Magellanic 1). And thanks! I was wondering when people were gonna start asking for uploads. I'll try to get a couple things together tonight if I have time
Unfortunately, BN1 isn't meant to fly, just testing the construction and how to move and service one. It might "fly" if it fails cryo-proofing, but most likely BN2 or BN3 will be the first to fly, and even then, not that high(probably as high as SN8-10). I do hope they can begin orbital test flights by the end of the year though
You know, that's actually a great idea! I hope it goes well for you and your classmates. An educational game like this would have helped me a lot in school...
As far as your main question goes, I can't really help you much. It should be easy to do once you talk a teacher into requesting it, but idk. I've used other educational resources where the only proof I needed to use it for free was my student email(since it's through the school and they can verify that you really are a student)
@ChaoticGraviton I'd hate to see that booster transporter go away, though I do understand the need to upgrade. The 2nd stage mounting vehicle looks interesting too, but probably not that great at it's job(just guessing). Congrats on the successful test too! I'm sad the second stage failed on the re-flight, but the fact that the booster worked a second time is an impressive feat regardless. I'm taking baby steps while you guys are taking strides! Can't wait for the next iteration
@Tweedle_Aerospace Nice! Yeah, it took me a few hours to find it myself. Mostly cuz I was looking in the wrong area at first, but even once I knew where it was, it was still really hard to get close enough to see
@Tweedle_Aerospace so I went and checked, and I still have the old DSC in my game even after updating to 2.2. The exact coordinates are lat:0 long:39. Also I added my screenshots from just now
@Tweedle_Aerospace I think you're right about these particular pictures. I'll have to check again, but I'm pretty sure it's still there for me. It's not marked on the map and there's no launch site presaved to that location(I had to get there on my own and save a launch site just to get back easily).
I'm still working on specifics, but you might need to add the first orbital test flight of the Magellanic 1v0.4 dubbed "Testing...testing...1...2...3!" currently scheduled NET March 26 time TBD. This is of course dependant on our current round of static fires(more on that soon...). I'll update you with more confirmed info shortly
I could go on for days with specifics, but here's a few decent examples:
Many, many things behave differently in microgravity than they do on earth. Organic molecules combine in different ways(there's certain "rules" to organic chemistry like Homochirality that are nearly impossible to break without mg), proteins fold wrong(it's not good enough to just have the correct chemical formula, it needs to be arranged the right way too), living cells make strange adaptations(plant cells stop producing cell walls), etc. Spiders of the same species build completely different webs on the ISS than they do on earth. Plants grow at different rates and with completely different structures. Nano-scale 3d printing in microgravity simplifies the process greatly over that on earth(atoms and molecules can be moved around more easily among other things). As mentioned previously, cloned organs can be grown more easily as well. And there's a ton more that I can't even get into now.
it was also said that the best test experience in microgravity conditions could be given by suborbital flight. Is it true?
Not completely sure about that, but I'd guess it depends on the research you're doing. There's a ton of different methods to perform microgravity research, and none are necessarily better than the rest. Seriously, you could perform the research on a rollercoaster if it's designed right. But the more common methods include planes like the "Vomit Comet" and "Drop Towers" for most research purposes, however the test duration for these is very short compared to a suborbital rocket or something like the ISS.
You have to rotate the wheels 90° along the same axis they rotate(spin). This will make them turn the correct way if you rotated them correctly. It might take a few corrections since the wheels might turn right when you want left, but then you just rotate them another 180° to fix that
@Tweedle_Aerospace Damn! I'm sorry about that. My parents didn't really care what I did as long as I didn't hurt someone or go jail. Plus I was the only one who was computer literate in my family, but if I wanted internet I had to go to a public library until I bought my first cell phone at 18. So I've never dealt with your situation other than knowing some friends who did. I thought you just couldn't download anything without parent approval, not that you couldn't use any app/website at all without their approval.
Yeah, I don't want you to get in trouble for something stupid so I guess just ignore my idea. At least until you can make that choice yourself. I know it's hard, but I'm sure your parents have your best interests in mind here.
Hopefully we'll figure out some way to relay messages or something. Maybe post important convos on this site only...idk
I can’t since I don’t actually control what goes on and off my phone.
Just do what I do:
1)Open a new tab in your web browser and go to discord.com.
2)Switch to "Desktop View" in your browser(it's usually a check-box in the upper right-hand corner menu next to the tabs menu)
3)Sign up for Discord and continue in the browser(ignore any pop-ups asking to install the app)
If you don't want to have to switch to desktop view every time, just leave the tab open in the browser.
This is what I do if possible(anything with a desktop site and not app only) to conserve my phone's limited memory space by not installing an app if I don't absolutely need to
Lollzzz. I failed at math sooo much because I simply didn't want to take 10 extra steps to "show my work" when I got the correct answer in 2-3 steps(that and I challenged myself to do mental math as much as possible, so it really pissed off my math teachers to see only the initial set-up and final answer without anything in between)
Btw, when your at 100 points, you will be able to use ![ ](image link)
Huh. I really didn't know that's how that works. Is there a guide to how the point system works? It took me about a week to figure out I needed 15 points to upvote posts, and I barely figured out how to get enough points from posting a video the other day.
I've been dealing with the same thing to an extent. I built a low quality starship to test the idea and basic aero, but it was hard to use the flaps properly as a control surface with my set-up. I'm not very good with vizzy so I never really figured it out on my own, but I did think of something that might work. If you set the flaps control(in the part properties tab of the designer) to pitch/roll then the autopilot should automatically control them the way intended(although I'm not sure since I haven't tested that yet). I also believe vizzy could control them in a similar fashion if set that way
No, not really. I know it's high up on the list of things to add, but there's still no timeline on that yet. I do know some people have been working on a "mod"(I'm not sure if it's really a mod or just very extensive vizzy programming) though that adds a campaign mode of sorts to the game, but I'm not sure about how soon that'll be out, just that it's close to complete atm

3.7 years ago@StarbornCelestial1 Nice! I think it'll help the story a bit to see a couple snapshots of important contextual things with each teaser
3.7 years ago@StarbornCelestial1 I read that one too(although I think I forgot to upvote lol...). Now I'm just waiting for the next one
3.7 years agoLollzzz the comments. Good trailers though, I'm interested in what's next

3.7 years ago@NebulaSpaceAgency So I tried again and I think I finally got it! Here is my new meme
3.8 years ago@NebulaSpaceAgency never tried it but I'll give it a shot. I'm still new to most of this stuff so I just don't know what works best
3.8 years ago@NebulaSpaceAgency ahhhhh touché
3.8 years agoI guess I just don't know how to meme...
@NebulaSpaceAgency I don't know how to post images directly so I linked it from my reddit. Where it says "The link" should be the link to it
3.8 years ago@Chtite451SR2 Yes, RIP SN10
Good thing SN 15 is right around the corner (literally and figuratively)
3.8 years agoTurns out, they did scrub. But then they reset everything and tried again. And guess what?
THEY FRIGGIN NAILED IT! SN10 LANDED SUCCESSFULLY(although with a tiny lean)!!
3.8 years agoLooks like a successful launch and landing! I'm super stoked!!!
3.8 years agoI can't wait! Soooooo friggin excited! I'm really hoping that the landing goes well this time.
3.8 years ago@Arstotzka Boy do I know the feeling there. People call me smart all the time and I'm just like "No, I'm not. Just smarter than you!" Jk lol 🤣
And your description of Musk is very accurate. I love it!
