Lucky. I'm too cheap to invest in a PC (just have a work laptop that is fully locked down). I'm getting really tired of the part limit on my iPhone though...

    @CodeCaptain
I know. I was able to find an incredible pseudo-canyon (maybe just a wash) on Taurus in the ESS. Maybe I’ll post a sandbox with the exact location. I have it featured in an upcoming video.

@Sflanker, I hate to ask you to do this again. Any chance you have something already made for this? It would be a lifesaver for my hover programs.

    @Jrhartle87 I just registered a suggestion here

  • Profile image

@Jrhartle87 I downloaded the craft and see exactly what you're talking about with the roll. This is an ongoing issue for me as well. The problem seems to be that when you have autopilot on, the rocket actively controls pitch and yaw very well, but roll is sort of 'locked' (hard to explain). The autopilot attempts to maintain whatever the current roll orientation is, but each time it's perturbed, the autopilot just resets to the new condition and tries to maintain that. This all wouldn't be a huge issue, except that Vizzy commands to override the roll input do not seem to register. I think it's about time to make a formal suggestion for this, although I don't think many others have noticed it.

@TheUnfriendlyGhost well that’s definitely frustrating. Have you submitted a bug report in-game yet? I did one the other day and the response was fast.

Good description, but if you can post the craft and/or video that would be really helpful to diagnose.

    +1 4.7 years ago
  • Profile image

@TheUnfriendlyGhost one more thing: what camera mode are you using? The chase cam automatically orients to your crafts yaw/pitch axis, making translation way easier. You probably already tried this though.

    4.7 years ago
  • Profile image

@TheUnfriendlyGhost yikes. Can you post the craft?

Post this thing!!! I can’t promise I can fix it but if you @ me I’ll give it a shot. I like your stuff so I’m willing to help if I can.

Is your RCS balanced around the craft center of mass? You can check by looking at the coordinates of each RCS thruster. Ideally one is at -2.00 and the other is at +2.00, rather than one at -2.00 and +2.50 (or similar).

I’ll bump this. Been having issues as of late and I can’t tell if I’m just pushing the limits of my device (iOS as well, iPhone XS).

@Rizkyman SO. MANY. PARTS. When I do a lego build, because of the number of internal and external snap points the part count goes through the roof. So the Saturn V has 1,969 parts in lego count, but will send my part count easily over 10,000. I haven't tried yet, but I think that might break my phone. I know I could just not use all the snap points, but that kind of makes it more fun to build. Maybe on the iPhone 15...

Thanks @kerothehero. I tried few ways. Do you know how?

I have a trick I use sometimes. Just link two pistons together end to end and invert one, so that when you extend one, the other is closing. It's not perfect, but it matches the speeds much better than the stock. It's a complicated workaround, so it depends on how important it is to you that they open and close at the same speed.

@NoIDontWanna haha actually that section in my profile is for crafts that I really like the looks of but need more time to download and test out. I'm a huge fan of your work!

Edit: it looks you pulled the craft down before I could check it out... why?

Hi @Bartreck, it would be too difficult for me to try and explain here in words, but my pal @Sflanker has a knack for laying out difficult concepts like this.

It may not be much help, but the final docking code in This Craft may spark some insights.

@Insanity I tried that but the sound frequencies seem to be off. I’m probably just not smart enough. Do you have an example of it working with electric motors?

  • Profile image

@karimspina I know exactly what you’re talking about. The problem is that the RCS is not “balanced” around the craft’s center of mass, meaning that the force of turning the craft is also making some relative velocity. It’s kind of hard to describe, but if you upload and link to the craft I can fix it to show you.

@Bwad34 ;D no worries. In the same vein of VTOL, maybe you could try making the snow speeder from Star Wars? If you do the design I could write the Vizzy to make it hover.

    4.7 years ago
  • Profile image

@Bwad34 I'm with you. I've lost multiple crafts and Vizzy programs and each time I have to take a break to get back into it. An autosave feature would be so nice, especially on mobile where the app restart rules are a bit random.
I couldn't find a suggestion for this in the forums, so I went ahead and created one HERE.

    4.7 years ago
  • Profile image

Hi @Bwad34, and welcome-ish to SR2. Surprisingly, nobody as far as I can tell has replicated the VTOL Quinjet from Avengers movies. If you could create a decent replica that would be very cool. If you decide to go for it, make sure you post the link here so I can download, upvote, and mess around with it.

  • Profile image

No problem @Bwad34 , it’s your creation! Glad it works and glad I could help. I enjoy the Vizzy stuff, so let me know if you have other questions/problems.

One other thing: it looks like you got upvote points because your craft was the basis of mine. That’s how it’s supposed to work; can you make sure that’s true?

I gave it a shot, hopefully it works for you: craft here

@SelectAKey well dang it. Back to the drawing board... if you could post a vid it may help me diagnose. No worries if not.

    4.7 years ago
  • Profile image

Thanks @SelectAKey! Current version struggles with orbits < 150km or so. No other considerations as far as I know. For now the code only works with the uploaded craft, but eventually I’ll expand it to handle various situations.

Are you trying to cancel all target-relative velocity? Or are you trying to use space shuttle to maneuver a module? You're giving me an idea to create a canadarm replica...
