ZENITH GALAXY 2.0 BY ZENITHSPEED
NOTE: Zenith Galaxy is an extremely massive and resource intensive system. Game crashes and other performance issues are highly prone to occuring, regardless of device type. It is highly reccommended to lower the game quality if you're not completely sure of your device's power. You will also need a large amount of spare storage space as this system has many textures and celestial bodies packed into it.
The fictional galaxy featured in my Hypernova lore, also known as SDG-1 or Zenith's Galaxy.
Wander around the many celestial bodies with spawn spots, or push physics aside, go interstellar, and explore over 100 exo-worlds to your heart's content. With all sorts of celestial bodies, and several unique star types (such as pulsars, brown dwarfs, and white dwarfs) featured, this is for those who want to spice up their exploration game, take on a massive challenge, or test their crafts in all sorts of environments. I try to make each celestial body different from others while still making them easy to put into archetypes, but if you notice anything off then feel free to tell me about it.
Systems are on an unrealistically small scale due to avoid bugs, spazzing out, etc., and also to make the celestial bodies less of a pain to reach, although you will still require an overpowered craft for basically all of them.
Total star systems list, from inner to outer:
- Cythare, O-type star with a surprisingly long lifespan, 1 cold and stormy gas giant with 3 moons and 1 submoon
- Tethlanov's Stars, binary white dwarves in strange orbits with 1 captured planet
- Lafaran, a lore-heavy orange dwarf with 3 planets and 2 moons (lore details can be found in the respective celestial bodies)
- GENO 2322, brown dwarf with 1 companion planet
- Pholis, red dwarf with 3 planets, 1 moon, and 1 submoon
- Alpha Nevonum, a heavily mixed quad star system with a WR star, F-type star, M-type star, and a white dwarf, 3 planets and 3 moons in total
- Vasa X, orange subgiant with 2 planets, 6 moons, and 1 submoon in total
- Alpha Ceti (no relation to the real star of the same name), also known as Citrini, has an oddly yellowish color, 3 planets and 3 moons
- Stura, active red star with 2 gas giants and their moons
- SD 1592, or Sirodis, a K-type star with superhabitable planet Utopia and habitable zone gas giant Osiris, alongside their moons
- Mortan (NOTE: not the whole system is included, only Namalato, Vazur, Merak+Lumina+Vetiro, Spinar+Sortis, the rest are left out to reduce performance issues)
- REAS-21S, white star with a singular habitable planet reminiscent of Kepler-22b, also has 1 moon
- Kalima A and B, blatant copy of the main Alpha Centauri pair, 1 hot gas giant with 1 moon
- Callun Konta, bright red dwarf with a strange name, 2 planets which are very close to each other, and 1 moon
- Etaros, large K-type star with 4 strange planets
- Purasaro, pulsar (doesn't spin very fast due to game limitations though)
- Caordu-Caulit, red dwarf and carbon star binary system, Caordu red dwarf has 4 planets and an asteroid belt, Caulit has nothing yet
- Astoria, unusual colored star with 2 planets, one semi-habitable and one fully, the latter has 1 moon
- URADS-42, G1V star located far away with 2 lava worlds and 1 ocean planet
- Henaor, K-type star with 2 planets and 3 moons
Version 2.0 - Beyond The Horizon
THE BIGGEST ZENITH GALAXY AND ZENITHSPEED-MADE UPDATE SO FAR!
ADDITIONS:
- a boatload of new systems and celestial bodies, you can read on those in the extended update log because there is literally too much to list, that's how big this update is
- out of all of the added celestial bodies, three are community-suggested (Jantanis, Kayub, Saganor), and one is fan-made but officially added (Vermos) — all user credits can be found in the celestial body's descriptions
CHANGES:
- Updated local version of the Mortan System to the 1.5.1 (Flareout) version
- Added version tag ("zenithgalaxy")
- Increased star system SMA's to spread them out more
- Completely revamped Sirodis system to a K-type (orange) star, with many changes to planets and moons
- Temporarily removed Klagro from Cythare, it will return in another system in a later version
- Adjusted names of most codenamed celestial bodies to be more realistic, however this also somehow removed the Alpha Ceti c (formerly B) launch sites despite me updating it
- Revamped stars: new "glow" with the atmosphere fog shader (original appearances are still kept underneath)
- Updated liquid parameters for celestial bodies that have them
- Added clouds to Utopia, Codrisa, and Phaedra (thanks to eyov2 tutorial for that)
IMPORTANT:
Most assets for terrain textures and/or rings are not made by me, and credit goes to their respective creators. I will not list them here as there are too many, and also because my memory is too garbage to remember all of them, not to mention how many there are in general.
If an in-game celestial body's name either resembles a, or is exactly the same as a real-life celestial body, then please take note that this is unintended and coincidental - if any name may have an offensive meaning, please tell me and i will rename it later unless the celestial body is a crucial part of the system (a disclaimer will be added in the description instead).

it's out... i can finally rest now... the struggles, are over...
i'll be quick because i can literally feel as ZG2 gives the site an aneurysm, but yeah, after two and a half years i finally launched an update to my most over-the-top creation yet. the total celestial body count is 123 according to the loading screen, however about 20-30 of those are stars, but even then you get 80+ celestial bodies to explore
have any feedback, be it suggestions or problems? please tell me about it, because i'm planning on a 2.0.1 version with a few fixes and changes here and there
enjoy.
-ZSX
@ChironTheFloof
damn it, it's probably the "engine cutoff bug"
it takes a while to explain what it is, but it's similar to what you've described, and affects a lot of the planets i've made (and it's not just this system either), and i still have yet to find the reason why it happens
i thought the devs fixed it but i guess it has returned :/
by orbits i mean it seems to think you're like. landed or something and it makes you spin around the planet instead of orbiting
@ChironTheFloof if you mean the orbit lines disappearing, that's normal; the game can't always render them due to the extreme distances involved
if it's not that, then idk sorry
so uhh. for some reason orbits break with this.
Oh my freaking lovely lordly god, after 3 years
@Zenithspeed I think you know but if you increase the SOI then the max distance also increases. After that you can change the SOI back. Only problem is that it doesn't work for the center celestial body (or at least I couldn't find a way). You would need to put another object inside the main one and let stuff orbit around that one.
@Zenithspeed uhhh
@PZLAgencies ...okay, and?
also, i have just noticed that you have about the same amount of points as eyov2.
@Vee ZG 2.5 likely won't be a thing lol
until i can somehow find a way to edit the XML i won't be able to add any new systems
@Zenithspeed alright thanks. now i just need to learn how to copy the orbits from ZG to the new system.
@PZLAgencies sure, just please give full credit
also can i reupload some of the systems (like Henaor or Sirodis) as a standalone system for people who don't want the rest of ZG2 and to also fix the bug of all the stars not shining
@sacr3dbac0n0 yeah i did edit the distances in XML, however i can no longer access most of the game's XML files after the game's 1.0 version
i actually planned for a 3.0 version of this that would have real planet sizes (i.e. 5x the current in-game scale) and increased distances, but due to what i said above, i most likely have to scrap that idea
im here for this masterpiece
@Zenithspeed The system editor does not have issues with large numbers, only when the map scale is set incorrectly for a given distance do you get problems. A real-scale (probably 100x) version of this would be cool. All you would have to do is increase map zoom and decrease map scale and the artifacts from real-scale distances go away. That is assuming you can break the 1000 Gm limit by editing the XML file, which looks like you did here. 5e18 - 5e20 is a good max zoom for 15 - 40 ly. As for map scale 1e-7 is good, but you might have to decrease or increase it for larger or shorter distances, respectively.
@sacr3dbac0n0 i haven't really measured a lot of things, just spread most things out willy-nilly, so unfortunately i don't know
(this obviously isn't meant to be realistic in any way)
as a quick thing, though, i took the distance that the outermost star system (Henaor) has from the center, and that came out as 0.2 light years, meaning that (if i didn't mess something up) the distances should be around 1/100000th what they would be if the galaxy was realistically sized (obviously it's downsized ingame because of gameplay reasons and the issues that can arise from massive numbers)
What is the star distance scale compared to real life?
@VectorY yeah, only one thing (in the middle) can give out light
@Zenithspeed, oh. It's a bummer they don't light up. But that's probably because of something that's hard-coded into the game.
@VectorY no, they're just decorative
Do the stars give out light?
@MAVESPACE
très sympa, je te souhaite bonne chance pour le réaliser
