IF YOU WANT THIS GAME TO REPLACE SIMPLEPLANES, MAKE IT REPLACE SIMPLEPLANES!!!
Procedural Internal Combustion Engines with optional number of cylenders/arangement (Radial, straight, slant, Boxer, H and V)
with Horse power/torque options
and procedural transmissions for connecting to wheels
with number of gears/gear ratio options
So many times players on both sides ask "where's Simpleplanes heading? Where's Simplerockets 2 heading? When is the next update?" I've come to believe that when the devs go quiet especially for a year it means something big is coming.
When I first got Simplerockets 2 I did it for 2 reasons. To support Jundroo and to see if I'd like it. I was very disappointed.
Fast forward to two years ago and I knew I'd eventually be fully switching over from Simpleplanes. This update right here is probably when that happens.
As for the name change, Absolutely does it need to happen. It needed to happen when the jet engine was added. I can't wait for my nefew to see this game and for my kids to grow up playing it.
@Pedro a procedural piston engine would make the simple cub a lot more enjoyable to fly, and prop craft better to build. although the generator sounds realistic, it lacks throttle tamber. Plus, there's alot of conversion math in trying to make power output accurate with that setup vs. An engine.
@starmango I'm sorry it came off as whiney but the closest thing to a generator driven electric motor in real life is a turbine engine and that's a stretch. His answer is far from truthful and is invalidating.
@LeMagicBaguette do generators apply a torque through reciprocating motion from 1 or more pistons? Oh no they don't? Stop trying to invalidate other's opinions through fake data.
@Tully2001 until we can mirror individual parts and mirror around anything, not just fuel tanks, what you said is a lie. Please see my rant that i posted.
When will a mod tools pack with procedural jet engines be released and is there a chance we can get a unity ready bundle of 3d models to support the settings to port over to Simpleplanes?
Now if we can get prop engines, cameras, weapons, and the ability to change the end angle on inlets and fuselage blocks... Oh and the landing gear from so

+12 1.4 years ago@AndrewGarrison can you add the inlet angle option from Simpleplanes?

+1 8 months agoThe server computer crashed and they got it back up but only half the sites were working.
+1 10 months agoCan we get procedural gas engines for cars and prop planes!
+1 1.2 years ago@pedro16797 so make it a PC only feature like Simpleplanes Maywar
+1 3.8 years agoIf they fixed the building mechanics we wouldn't have to ask.
+1 5.3 years agoAre you going to use knowledge gained in development of this game for Simpleplanes?
+1 6.6 years agoI'm gonna give this a try
6 months agoUnfortunately attachment points are done in unity.
7 months agoWe may or may not be getting real weapons in the next update
7 months ago@ModernTech2024 converts any kind of tocket or jet fuel into electricity to power a motor/ wheel
7 months ago@LeMagicBaguette that would be awesome
8 months ago@LeMagicBaguette interesting. Can it be used in conjunction with a fixed output electric motor?
8 months agoThis is a really bad idea, because there's no way to monitor what images may be included in a build.
8 months ago@Pedro you guys should do a dlc that ads the parts from Simpleplanes and an importer. I'd buy it @AndrewGarrison

1.2 years ago@Jerba same modern though. That's why he deleted it.
1.4 years ago@Jerba That was This and i don't think Jundroo can use it as the modder took it to Team Flyout.
1.4 years agoWhen do we get propellers?
1.8 years agoThe upvote points system is highly overrated anyway, so why does it even matter?
3.4 years ago@SupremeDorian nice. Deathstar.
3.7 years ago@SupremeDorian wait what the hell happened
3.7 years ago@AndrewGarrison I don't know if anyone told you but Droo now has two moons.
3.7 years agoDon't fall for it
3.7 years agoYou have to play with the input parameters. Overload is your best bet. My Corsair has custom rotators for that purpose. Go ahead and take a look.
3.8 years agoIf you're still taking requests I'm making a P-51 and need this logo.
3.8 years ago@Tweedle_Aerospace no. Just the heading guide
3.9 years agoThe what
3.9 years agoThis is also an issue with aircraft.
3.9 years ago@SmurfResearchX thanks abunch.
4.0 years ago@SmurfResearchX how do I get to that menu? Also how do I unsnap parts?
4.0 years agoHow do I view the center of gravity?
4.0 years agoif you add weapons and petral/piston engines for cars and planes I might consider trying to play the game.
4.8 years ago@Jetspeed1001 it's the reason i can't stand building in Simplerockets 2
5.3 years ago@Planefun yes i have. Just a few days ago infact
5.3 years ago@Tully2001 until we can mirror individual parts and mirror around anything, not just fuel tanks, what you said is a lie. Please see my rant that i posted.
5.3 years agoYou did it! you crazy people actually did it!
5.4 years ago@NathanMikeska thanks for the tip.
5.4 years agoWill it be possible to port parts (including their models) from Simplerockets 2 to Simpleplanes? And of course vice versa?
5.4 years ago@NathanMikeska I am happy to report that I got it to work. even the rudder pedals work unlike simpleplanes, which has them off center.
5.5 years ago@NathanMikeska correct and i have to look at it. I'm at the hospital right now.
5.5 years ago@pedro16797 sweet.
5.6 years agoWhen will a mod tools pack with procedural jet engines be released and is there a chance we can get a unity ready bundle of 3d models to support the settings to port over to Simpleplanes?
5.6 years agoI've had hangs with both Simpleplanes and simplerockets 2. But I think it's a steam issue.
5.8 years ago@Bmcclory thanks a bunch! Now I can get into it!
5.8 years agoNow if we can get prop engines, cameras, weapons, and the ability to change the end angle on inlets and fuselage blocks... Oh and the landing gear from so
5.8 years agodon't pt weapons on your rocket then.
