since you said anything would be okay, the only idea i have right now is a mission to make a plane and bring that to a world with atmosphere (Mars and Titan, Venus too but it's probably too hot) and then fly said plane for some time on that world
however both celestial bodies are really far away so they would need huge and powerful rockets, so to compensate, these missions should give a very large amount of money
@HumanoidCreature for me the "lots of fire comes out here" and "this end should point toward the ground if you want to gonto space. if it starts pointing towards space you are having a bad problem and you will not go to space today." are my favourites
@LeMagicBaguette if you do, can you send me the link too?
it'd be cool if they worked with wheels too, since i do (read: did) occasionally make cars too and experimented with generators but that was mostly to make noise and generate some battery (with this setup they do/did work a bit like a diesel-electric locomotive, but i'll take what i can get)
yeah there's no modifier for it unfortunately
from what i've experienced and tested myself, bigger jets definitely have longer spool up and down times, though bypass ratio didn't significantly affect it to my knowledge
honestly it surprises me that the Russians always opted for the little vernier thrusters (i think that's what they're called?) rather than full gimbal thrust vectoring, but hey, it works, so i'm not complaining
@Hyperant oh, this isn't even the biggest i've planned
there's still the LH90 which, even for having an in-universe size class of "Large", is only around 300 to 500 m long (essentially it's at like high-end cargo ship length) but i don't have an exact size for it yet, so with the exception of some of the enemy alien spacecraft (most of which they just stole and/or reverse engineered anyways) the spacecraft in Hypernova are of a much tamer size compared to other scifi
the mobile version doesn't support mods due to various policies set by both Apple (iOS) and Google (Android), it's a limitation we can't really do anything about
from what i've heard over on SimplePlanes is that the built-in wheel suspension is supposedly terrible, but again, this was from the previous game and it's entirely possible that the built-in suspension in JNO is actually decent or even excellent
that said, though, using both probably isn't a good idea
i'd say go ringless, or maybe a thin ring i guess
you should show a pic with a normal ring texture (even if just the one that Urados uses) rather than the placeholder ring, it'd probably help with making the decision
it runs fine on my ipad which by this point is 6.5 years old, and that's on around mid level graphics
it crashes a decent amount, but tbf i kinda need some "induced game crashes" just to remind me so i don't get overconfident
the controls are alright, but since i came from SP 7 years ago it's understandable that there's a lot of overlap between the two, and sure some parts of the UI can be a little janky (looking at you, AG panel covering up the joysticks) but it's not that big of a deal
@SatelliteTorifune yeah
just as an example, i planned to make a career version of my interstellar galaxy system thing, the only idea i had for it was that for the first "mission" one would be given a very overpowered (lightweight, high thrust, indestructible, infinite fuel) spaceplane for free so that one can freely explore the system first to get a grasp of what to do or where to go — of course, this would be impossible since you could easily discover landmarks or earn milestones or whatever, though maybe it's possible to temporarily disable those while doing the mission, idk — only then followed by normal missions
i was planning myself to make a career version of some of my own systems, but decided not to because
1. no easy way to do it, and there most likely won't be an easy way ever
2. takes up too much time for me
3. i genuinely don't know what i'd add to make it fully fledged out lol
there will be a switch, in the tab where you set the planet size and stuff, it's called like "enable surface physics" or something like that (should be directly above or below the "fade skybox dueing daytime" one), switch that on
glad you changed it, the huge text was kinda uncomfortable to read, the smaller one will be much better (tbh though you should just use normal text though with no formatting)
@PZLAerospacesAgency Teegarden's Star
red dwarf 12 lightyears away, has 2 planets and both have VERY similar size and mass to earth, one being in inner habitable zone (almost hot zone) and almost earth sized, while the other is in outer habitable zone, is a bit bigger, and has Mars-like temperatures
@Hyperant "has a good ipad"
r/brandnewsentence lmaooooo
that thing is like 6 years old by now lol, it can just barely run most games i have but will likely get way better once i get rid of Asphalt 8 clogging my memory
it was pretty good for its time but is far outclassed nowadays
@Hyperant i always set the MCV to the highest value but it still doesn't glow like that, so i have resorted to making artificial glows with the atmosphere
@deepfriedfrenchtoast @heitorM planet sizes in the game scale are 1/5th their real life scale (for the most part) but distances are kinda just "there" from what i know, with no exact conversion
since you said anything would be okay, the only idea i have right now is a mission to make a plane and bring that to a world with atmosphere (Mars and Titan, Venus too but it's probably too hot) and then fly said plane for some time on that world

@deepfriedfrenchtoast yeah ig
one year agoi've seen it before but no idea how it works lol
one year ago@deepfriedfrenchtoast would it be possible to make a "super-scifi" infinite fuel generator that doesn't consume power?
one year agoDragonfly definitely would work, since those are known for extreme maneuverability irl and so are Flankers
name aside, it looks really good, very smooth too
one year agoyou can change the Mass Flow to half of the displayed value, as Mass Flow is literally how much fuel it uses
one year ago@TheAviator777 lmao i did not make this
one year ago@HumanoidCreature for me the "lots of fire comes out here" and "this end should point toward the ground if you want to gonto space. if it starts pointing towards space you are having a bad problem and you will not go to space today." are my favourites

@AnonymousSoldier in the normal tinker panel, there should be a slider called "explosiveness", put that to the max (should be 1000%)
one year ago@jacobssgt2 interesting to know either way
1.1 years agohonestly it surprises me that the Russians always opted for the little vernier thrusters (i think that's what they're called?) rather than full gimbal thrust vectoring, but hey, it works, so i'm not complaining
1.1 years agoALL OK
1.1 years agohere
1.1 years agoyou gotta scroll a bit but it will be there
@TomKerbal ...and overrated
1.1 years agoyou can resize planets without changing gravity, there's an "auto update gravity" switch where the size and gravity are, switch that off
1.2 years ago78 km for the current versions
1.2 years ago@Hyperant oh, this isn't even the biggest i've planned
1.2 years agothere's still the LH90 which, even for having an in-universe size class of "Large", is only around 300 to 500 m long (essentially it's at like high-end cargo ship length) but i don't have an exact size for it yet, so with the exception of some of the enemy alien spacecraft (most of which they just stole and/or reverse engineered anyways) the spacecraft in Hypernova are of a much tamer size compared to other scifi
@Spitty @Hyperant that literally is the word "eclipse" 💀
1.2 years ago@ZeusSpaceAgency yea i actually got a lot of the stuff correct in my estimation lol
1.2 years ago@Hyperant yes but that's inconvenient
1.2 years agoi got bored of planet making and played Terraria for a while, then i came back and now just play everything on a mix now
1.2 years ago@CareerEnjoyer ayy, beat me to it
1.2 years ago@PZLAgencies you need to reduce the heat of the star (in atmosphere settings), that's what causing the issue
1.2 years ago@PZLAgencies what exactly do you need help with? what's given is a bit too vague for me to understand
1.2 years agothe mobile version doesn't support mods due to various policies set by both Apple (iOS) and Google (Android), it's a limitation we can't really do anything about
1.2 years ago@PZLAgencies wdym by "exact opposite" idea?

1.2 years agothat said, though, using both probably isn't a good idea
never thought i'd see Jundroo lore in my life... thankfully it's just a random "conteo" as confirmed by Pedro
1.2 years agoi'd say go ringless, or maybe a thin ring i guess
1.2 years agoyou should show a pic with a normal ring texture (even if just the one that Urados uses) rather than the placeholder ring, it'd probably help with making the decision
i do want to experience SE but my laptop is way too weak to run it, so it's a similar case with me
1.2 years ago@ForgottenGuy14 no, i have a custom setup
1.3 years agoit runs fine on my ipad which by this point is 6.5 years old, and that's on around mid level graphics
1.3 years agoit crashes a decent amount, but tbf i kinda need some "induced game crashes" just to remind me so i don't get overconfident

my best guess is that there's gonna be a "lite version" like with many 2010's [mobile] games
1.3 years ago@SatelliteTorifune yeah
1.3 years agojust as an example, i planned to make a career version of my interstellar galaxy system thing, the only idea i had for it was that for the first "mission" one would be given a very overpowered (lightweight, high thrust, indestructible, infinite fuel) spaceplane for free so that one can freely explore the system first to get a grasp of what to do or where to go — of course, this would be impossible since you could easily discover landmarks or earn milestones or whatever, though maybe it's possible to temporarily disable those while doing the mission, idk — only then followed by normal missions

@HorizonsTechnologies np
1.3 years agoi'm pretty sure it was just meant to be a one-way thing, send a rocket that can survive the heat for long enough, dunk it in, and boom
1.3 years agoexhaustGlobalIntensity is what you're looking for

yeah the orbit validator cries when binary orbits exist, i've had to cancel or modify a lot of stuff because of that
1.4 years ago@Hyperant i always set the MCV to the highest value but it still doesn't glow like that, so i have resorted to making artificial glows with the atmosphere
1.4 years ago@heitorM nah, i'm a 🤓
1.4 years ago@heitorM yes, Earth's irl radius is 6371 km, that's how i got the 1/5th number
1.4 years ago@deepfriedfrenchtoast @heitorM planet sizes in the game scale are 1/5th their real life scale (for the most part) but distances are kinda just "there" from what i know, with no exact conversion
