@AndrewGarrison in KSP, you can put a thrust limiter on an engine. This makes it so you have less thrust per second, but you burn a proportional less fuel per second. This is extremely useful for things like SRBs, which have a high thrust and high fuel consumption, and being able to limit the thrust will make for more efficient and stable rockets.
Just like KSP, most likely companies will offer you contracts to get to a certain goal (get an orbit, test this engine, do some science) and will reward you upon completion
hell yes let's go
That lander looked sweet as hell also
I'm fine with updates every other week, whatever it takes to speed the progress along. It's YOUR game, after all
@Mostly however, as this community has shown, most discussion here is civil. This entire thread is civil discussion. We shouldn't discourage different opinions just because some people might make it go sour.
It will be released after a baby gets a phd, J.K. Rowling writes another Harry Potter book, and when I finally do my homework
In otherwords, probably between Summer-2019
To the people saying that I can't control people, you're exactly right. I can't. That's why this is called "Small Rant", rather than "We need to change"
To the people that say I'm taking this community too seriously, I'm sorry. This is just a bit less ordered of a community than I'm used to, and maybe I will have to change. That won't stop me from making my opinion heard, however.
To those who say that gasoline can e used as a very crappy rocket fuel, I suppose you're right. It would, however, not be tuned to the rocket's needs and would most likely be very inefficient
@goboygo1 I bring you this comment (which is actually for a good purpose, mind you) : this
@Awsomur Yes, I do admit that the car gasoline thing was probably a joke, but it has been getting harder and harder to distinguish between jokes and seriousness these days
@Thederpingmemes I think you don't really know your geology very well. The universe is currently about 15 billion years old. Earth formed only a couple billion years ago. When the universe turns 43.9 billion years old, many stars will have been put out. The milky way and Andromeda will have merged. There will be no Earth, much less a bay off the coast of Bengal. Aren't a lot of people here supposed to know about space?
Probably because the copyright last for more than a year? I'm pretty sure that's how things work. A book doesn't have to be updated every year with copyrights
@PorkyClown3 why not? Andrew is spending so much time and effort into this game, so adding reaction wheels to capsules shouldn't take too long compared to other large features being added.
@MrTaco mining the materials would not be impratical, bringing the materials back would be impractical. Having a lot of raw material, water, and whatever else is inside Mars would make it a great "pit stop" for future missions. Heck, it could all be automated if we really tried. That saves money on supplies for future missions and saves extra weight.
What I'm worried about, is the fact that nobody else is there to regulate the first people to land there. Remember what happened with the New World? One of the countries there now is called the United States of America.

+3 6.7 years agoShamelessly begging for upvotes cannot be excused by "testing the website"
+3 6.9 years agoWill the reentry effects be purely asthetic or will it have an actual effect on the performance of the rocket?
+2 6.5 years agoFinally! I hate seeing the same questions over and over. I hope Andrew sees this and makes it VERY VERY noticable and obvious
+2 6.6 years agoJust like KSP, most likely companies will offer you contracts to get to a certain goal (get an orbit, test this engine, do some science) and will reward you upon completion
+2 6.7 years agoOh hey porky
+2 6.8 years ago@Bmcclory it's also not too big of a deal to add/remove a small line of code. It's a quality of life ting I guess.
+1 5.0 years ago@AndrewGarrison possibly performance issues involving sensitive equipment such as electronics?
+1 6.5 years agoVery sleek and sexy
+1 6.6 years agoI like it.
How to use a candle
hell yes let's go
+1 6.6 years agoThat lander looked sweet as hell also

@Werty101 like I've said before, they last more than a year...
+1 6.6 years ago@legendary666 I think new galaxies may be a bit of a stretch
+1 6.7 years agoSo...
+1 6.8 years agoSmilky Way, as in Lag Hell?
End this meme already it's been beat to death for the two days that it was alive
+1 6.9 years agoHave you ever encountered the problem of textures not fully appearing? I'm on the mobile beta as well and have been having problems with that.

6.0 years ago@Mostly that doesn't mean we aren't allowed to express counter opinions.
6.0 years agoWill the game be out on Amazon anytime soon?
6.1 years agoI hate black licorice too, I feel you
6.2 years agoWill you be releasing the source code for SR1 when SR2 comes out?
6.5 years ago@PorkyClown3 oh man, I want to laugh, but I know it will be real
6.5 years agoOh, my device is crying just thinking about it
6.6 years agoIt will be released after a baby gets a phd, J.K. Rowling writes another Harry Potter book, and when I finally do my homework
6.6 years agoIn otherwords, probably between Summer-2019
It's been confirmed....
6.6 years agoThere will be chicken nuggets added to the game
We still love you.
6.6 years agosexy

6.6 years agoI mean, considering that Andrew is basically replacing all the parts in SP with better ones in SR2, I'm not sad at all.
6.6 years ago@JoshMan Unfortunately not, I suppose with every good thing there also comes ignorance
6.6 years ago@PhantomHawke as @Bmcclory said, read my final comment

6.6 years agoYes, maneuver nodes! It's such a pain having to do most of the stuff in your head
6.7 years agoM8, I don't think that's how things work. Copyrights last more than the year they were made you know.
6.7 years agoProbably because the copyright last for more than a year? I'm pretty sure that's how things work. A book doesn't have to be updated every year with copyrights
6.8 years agoWill there be options to have thrust limiters and be able to pump fuel?
6.8 years agoSheakspeare himself would be impressed
6.8 years ago@PorkyClown3 why not? Andrew is spending so much time and effort into this game, so adding reaction wheels to capsules shouldn't take too long compared to other large features being added.
6.8 years agoPress f to pay respecc
6.8 years ago@PorkyClown3 wouldn't be too hard to implement. If one part has Reaction Hweels, why can't another part?
6.8 years agoDon't worry, I'm here to help--
6.8 years agoWhat was I saying?

6.8 years agoThat engine looks interesting
6.8 years ago@MrTaco it doesn't even need to be rare to be mined. Raw materials are always good to have a fresh supply of
6.8 years ago@MrTaco maybe it's not practical to live there, but it is nice to have a fresh planet with resources and a backup if things go wrong
6.8 years ago@mikethespike056 oh lol. Even if they are on SR1, it's nice to suggest things and fixes
6.8 years agoWhat I'm worried about, is the fact that nobody else is there to regulate the first people to land there. Remember what happened with the New World? One of the countries there now is called the United States of America.
6.8 years ago@mikethespike056 he mentions the SR1 wheels, so why mention them again?
