I feel that in light of recent events it's especially important now more than ever that we as a community work together to keep this site a nice place. Most of us are here because we love space, and we should be using this common interest to inspire each-other to do great things. Because space is pretty damned inspiring, I'd say.
@Yathish I realize how that sounded and I apologise to anyone that took it the wrong way, however I was not by any means saying mobile players weren't useful testers. What I said was "Playercount != usefulness as testers" in response to someone else saying "You should test mobile first now, after all, now mobile users are larger than CP.". My point there was that a higher player-count does not indicate that all of them would make for good testers. There are plenty of mobile players that would make for good testers, but generally PC testers are easier to find and cooperate with.
and some great feedback we got from the community in the SimpleRockets Chat Discord Server made us realise this base has a lot of potential and deserves more time to get it right.
@JSO18 Planet studio is most likely never going to be officially supported on mobile, as it is very complicated and CPU-intensive. If you want to access it on mobile you will probably still be able to use the PlanetStudio console command, but you will need a keyboard to move the camera and any issues that you may come across may not be fixed if they are exclusive to mobile devices.
.
@Exo200 Please don't spread misinformation. None of the developers have stated that planet studio will be coming to mobile in a "nerfed" state.
@AndrewGarrison Quick question that I just now thought of: Can the waves present in this sneak peek be edited in planet studio/XML to, as an extreme example, make something like the waves on Miller's planet?
Please bring issues like this to Jundroo's contact page, as spreading what is most likely misinformation on the forums is not the proper way to go about this. What you are experiencing is most likely pure coincidence, as I and everyone else I know have not experienced any spam emails as a result of creating a Jundroo account.
While Astronauts would be a great addition to the game, I don't think they should be humans. SR2 doesn't take place in our Solar System, thus there is no reason for life on Droo to be human. A huge part of KSP's identity is the Kerbals themselves. I think if they do add Astronauts, they should go with some new species they've made up, like 'Droomans' or something.
Multiplayer has been suggested several times, and every time it has been suggested it has been denied. There are quite a few problems with it and it just isn't happening -- at least not officially.
You don't need modded fuel tanks to have infinite fuel on the PC version. When in-flight you can enter MLI into the dev console and it'll turn on infinite fuel. The dev console may be unbound by default, so if it is go to your controls and bind it to a key.
It's not that simple. Yes SimplePlanes and SimpleRockets 2 both use the Unity engine, but the games themselves work much differently from each other. You can't just "grab the weapon code from simple planes and yeet it into simple rockets", it would just throw a ton of errors at you. Also, if you want weapons just go to SimplePlanes. This is a game for Rockets.
Can a moderator put an end to this? wwwNews222com has been making unnecessary comments on my and a few others' posts, thus causing unnecessary drama. I also think he's underaged, and if he isn't he's just too immature to be on the website.
Squad isn't actually developing the game; they'll be focusing on updating the original game. KSP 2 is being developed by a new company by the name of 'Star Theory', which consists largely of KSP fans (some of them with over 2000 hours into the original game). @pedro16797
What you have to understand is that SimplePlanes has been out for years and has had plenty of time to receive community feedback and become what it is now. SimpleRockets 2 only came out in early access last November, and as such you can expect it to be more rough around the edges than SP. Personally, I prefer SR2 over SP and am excited to see it grow. I'm sorry you don't like the game, but please consider the facts I have stated above.
@Kell Chill dude. A lot of KSP videos adopt the same style from one another. Let him do his thing and don't get defensive over something that resembles the way you made your video.
Farewell, @Mod. I wish you the best of luck with your new endeavors. A lot of you may not know this, but Mod is the reason I'm a moderator on this site, and for that I am forever grateful.
Google doesn't prohibit mods. The problem with Android modding is that with fairly recent 64-bit requirements they've had to change the scripting backend to one that does not support mods since the previous one did not have 64-bit support. If IL2CPP ever supports mods, then Android will have mod support. It's out of Jundroo's control. That said, embedding some mods into the game would be nice but it's not a priority.
.
Edit: Also, if Mono (the one that supports mods) gets 64-bit support then Android can have mod support, provided they switch back to it.
@Reeseek_Puffs Unfortunately, SR3 has been going through development hell due to the complexities of rendering a 4-dimensional environment.
