The game does need more tutorials, that's an undeniable fact. I've been playing for a while, and still have absolutely no idea how to work the orbit tools, what they mean, and how to go from planet to planet. Good game, not perfect by any respect, but needs more tutorials
Games aren't simply held back by their classifications, who are you to say they "don't belong?" The devs may have said they don't plan on adding weapons, but that doesn't mean they don't belong. I people want weapons, and they end up being added to the game, if you don't like them, just don't use them. As LiamW pointed out, some weapons do work in space. Sure, people need to stop pressuring the devs to add weapons ASAP, but you don't need to be against them. no offense intended
We should be able to move and rotate the mirror plane just like a normal piece, because once the symmetry gets wonky, it's really hard to fix. (unless we already can and I just haven't figured it out yet
Yeah... think about it for a second. How could you transfer a build when they contain different, non compatible parts (SP prop engines to SR2?) nope, not gonna work
@InfinityTechnology nice, it's cool to see someone build a ship in the newer style from 4 and 5. Personally I'm currently building a warthog based on the one from 5
@plane918273645 early American settlers were taught several things on how to survive by the Native Americans, and they then had a large celebratory feast. Today it's both a patriotic and family holiday, and yes much turkey, mashed potatoes, and stuffing are involved, along with some football
Now if these spacemen could also walk around on planets, and take control of different vehicles... that would quite possibly be the most amazing and game-changing thing out there
X-15, it's just awesome. And as soon as an Overload-style mod comes out for SR2, I'll be going nuts with Star Wars stuff. (then I'm not limited by fuel capacity, and using an ion engine with crazy power settings would be epic)
@Teague ikr, I think that this is gonna be my first project. (Well first serious one anyway, after I mess around for a while) Although I'll probably make it deep space-capable, so it's a true spaceship
I don't know exactly what has changed here but I decided to give SR2 a try a couple of weeks ago and really loved the building mechanics, even more than SP's, which I never felt possible. Controllable astronauts are why I'll never go back to SP, as the feeling of being able to build a plane, walk around it, and then actually sit down in your cockpit is amazing. Def use Overload, and there is a connection editor, although it is a bit temperamental.
@Mod oh, yeah sorry, I just linked that cause it showed the missile bays in closer detail than the other blueprints I found. But I completely understand, sorry about that
@SupremeDorian cause I'm trying to make the bays look hollow, and cargo bays don't do that if you already have a block there. The way the bays are supposed to be shaped wouldn't work, even with a full cargo bay
@Insanity yeah but will that actually cause enough drag to slow the aircraft? I guess a better question would be "is it possible to make functional airbrakes?"
You know what I'm gonna do with this stuff?
Make a spaceship in a spaceship in a spaceship in a spaceship!

+3 6.1 years agoSorta like Kuat Drive Yards in Star Wars? Cool thought but, yeah,
+2 6.0 years agolaggggggggg

+2 6.1 years agoIdiot me: Well it could happen, they just need to do things 5 times as fast with a small amount of people...oh wait...
+2 6.1 years agoSmart me:
EXACTLY
Yeah... think about it for a second. How could you transfer a build when they contain different, non compatible parts (SP prop engines to SR2?) nope, not gonna work
+2 6.1 years agoYep. Here I am, sitting in 5th period study hall, waiting for school to end so I can go home and buy SR2.
+2 6.1 years agoAh geez Tim and Moby... that brings me back
+2 6.4 years ago@AndrewGarrison
+2 6.4 years ago@Gen3ralInterstel1ar yeah it's the Pelican, I posted an actual teaser of it as well
+1 4.0 years ago@Arstotzka oh it's a troop transport alright
+1 4.0 years ago@InfinityTechnology nice, it's cool to see someone build a ship in the newer style from 4 and 5. Personally I'm currently building a warthog based on the one from 5
+1 4.1 years agoStormworks, HALO Mcc, MFS, B02, BOCW, BFII
+1 4.1 years ago@TestRunner thanks, yeah that did help
+1 4.4 years agoI had heard of this, but never listened to the broadcast, and frankly, that's one of the coolest, most beautiful moments of the Apollo missions
+1 5.0 years ago@plane918273645 early American settlers were taught several things on how to survive by the Native Americans, and they then had a large celebratory feast. +1 5.2 years agoEither try changing fuel types or making sure you have fuel lines connecting to the engine, check the "fuel line" option
+1 5.2 years agoyes
+1 5.2 years agoThat's just the way the world works. Stuff costs money
+1 6.1 years agoX-15, it's just awesome. And as soon as an Overload-style mod comes out for SR2, I'll be going nuts with Star Wars stuff. (then I'm not limited by fuel capacity, and using an ion engine with crazy power settings would be epic)
+1 6.2 years agoUpvotes. I believe 2 points per upvote on a forum post, idk about planes
+1 6.2 years agoIncoming licorice
+1 6.2 years agoSmoruscant, Smavin 4, Smalderaan, Smatooine...
+1 6.3 years agowait this isn't Star Wars?
dangit
First I'm gonna mess around and make some simple crazy rockets, my first real serious project is probably gonna be the X-1 or X-15
+1 6.3 years ago@Teague ikr, I think that this is gonna be my first project. (Well first serious one anyway, after I mess around for a while) Although I'll probably make it deep space-capable, so it's a true spaceship
+1 6.4 years agoYeah, like Chancey said, those smoke clouds are a bit too solid, but not by a lot. You don't want them too see through
+1 6.5 years ago@goboygo1 maybe, but just a stock ion engine with no exhaust and customizable glow color would be cool
+1 6.6 years ago@Arstotzka damn, that's a shame, that really should be a feature
3.8 years agoDang, that ONI logo on the bridge looks great!
4.0 years ago@Arstotzka you are right that it's a UNSC craft from Halo, but not a Falcon
4.0 years ago@Chtite451SR2 lol star wars is close, but still the wrong franchise
4.0 years agowell I've never been more excited for a sr build before, that's for sure.
4.1 years agoAlso, is that a Strident Class heavy frigate in the background?
@Gio2020ITA yeah, episode 1
4.2 years ago@s5ehfr9 of course, this is just the work in progress
4.2 years ago@Chtite451SR2 good point, I'll do that
4.2 years ago@Ker0 hmm, well I'll make a bug report about that then
4.5 years agohello there
4.5 years agoI don't know exactly what has changed here but I decided to give SR2 a try a couple of weeks ago and really loved the building mechanics, even more than SP's, which I never felt possible. Controllable astronauts are why I'll never go back to SP, as the feeling of being able to build a plane, walk around it, and then actually sit down in your cockpit is amazing. 4.5 years ago@Insanity hmm, interesting, I didn't know that
4.5 years agofuel tanks do exist, the "Fuel Tank" part has a percentage gauge for how filled up with fuel it is
4.5 years ago@Mod oh, yeah sorry, I just linked that cause it showed the missile bays in closer detail than the other blueprints I found. But I completely understand, sorry about that
5.1 years ago@SupremeDorian yeah I know, but the problem is that I need the hinges of the doors to be on the corners, not halfway down the sides
5.1 years ago@SupremeDorian cause I'm trying to make the bays look hollow, and cargo bays don't do that if you already have a block there. The way the bays are supposed to be shaped wouldn't work, even with a full cargo bay
5.1 years ago@Insanity yeah true
5.1 years ago@Insanity nobody needs to know about temporary absences
5.1 years ago@Insanity yeah but will that actually cause enough drag to slow the aircraft? I guess a better question would be "is it possible to make functional airbrakes?"
5.1 years ago@Insanity aah, I thought that was the opposite, thanks for the help!
